Coat Drive

Students for Peace - Community Project

Birthday Gift Redirect

We made posters and decorated big cardboard boxes that we spread around our high school for students and staff to drop warm layers into. We got a clip in our schools weekly video thread to ensure everyone knew where to donate the coats and where they were going. We donated the layers to the St. Anthony Foundation in San Francisco.

Birthday Gift Redirect

For several birthdays, we asked friends to bring money for our birthday instead of presents. We then would find a local non-profit and give our birthday money to them. Our favorites were the Marin Humane Society and Doctors Without Borders.

We contacted every High School in our county and asked that they decorate a wooden peace sign. They were displayed at the the Marin County Fair and auctioned online. Sixteen High Schools participated and with the help of an article in the Marin Independent Journal and a highlight on ABC news, we were able to make a sizable donation to Arizae through the auction and personal donations.

POW

Donations to CA Fire Victims

Students for Peace - Community Project

Protect Our Winters (POW) is an organization founded by Jeremy Jones, a professional snowboarder, who wanted to take action to keep the sport he loved alive. They promote non-parisan policies designed to protect our world. We hosted a live auction and sold raffle tickets to raise money for POW. We got local restaurants, stores, and hotels to donate prizes and experiences for the event.

Donations to CA Fire Victims

During the California fires, many people had to leave their houses quickly. We donated flip-flops, blankets, pens and paper, waterbottles, and backpacks to the fire victims.
